Job Overview

Weavers Medical is a large GP practice in Kettering and Mawsley, caring for almost 30,000 patients. We are looking for a Treatment Room Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing treatment and advice to patients attending the treatment room.
• Undertake injections and record on the clinical system.
• Take/record patient blood pressure measurements.
• Test urine samples and record on the clinical system.
• Chaperone patients for other clinical staff members.
• Perform nebulisation, ECG recordings, sutures removal, dressings and support HCAs.
• Administer childhood immunisations and produce immunisation schedules for children who have missed immunisations.
• Administer travel immunisations.
• Assist with telephone consultations and health promotion advice.
• Accurate entry in the computer for all patient contacts.
• Participate in regular nursing team meetings and liaise with all other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with at least one-year post registration experience.
• Current NMC registration.
• Experience working in a GP practice for a minimum of one year.
• Training in childhood immunisations and travel immunisations.
• Strong communication skills and membership of a professional body (e.g. RCN, MDU).

Education & Experience

• Certificate of Higher Education (required).
• Primary Care Nursing: 1 year (required).
