We are looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or a Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) with a current UK pin number and a passion for delivering outstanding care.

You will have the opportunity to work 42 hours a week at Cygnet Wallace Hospital.

Situated in a residential area of Dundee, Cygnet Wallace Hospital is a 10-bed specialist high dependency complex care service providing assessment and treatment for individuals with learning disabilities, with or without autistic spectrum disorder, as well as complex needs and behaviours. The team can also support those who have additional mental or physical health needs, as well as those detained under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act. We accept emergency referrals, and the team is experienced in managing them quickly and efficiently to ensure smooth transition for service users.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Producing outstanding written reports based on nursing assessments & observations
2. Working closely with the management team to develop the service, audit, & improve quality
3. Attending training and engaging in CPD to further knowledge & promote nursing
4. Ensuring care plans are complete & maintained according to NMC guidelines, in collaboration with residents, relatives, & healthcare professionals
5. Administering medicines within healthcare procedures & guidelines

You should be an experienced RMN/RNLD with a current Pin Number, demonstrating:

• The ability to maintain documentation, undertake audits, & demonstrate integrity
• A good understanding of the latest nursing practices
• A commitment to patient recovery to effectively monitor, manage, & reduce risk
• Compassion, resilience, & dedication to empower & support service user independence

Desirable qualities include:

• The ability to deputise in a clinical lead role
• An interest in leadership, research, & assessment
