A large NHS trust in Camden Town seeks an enthusiastic junior clinical fellow to join the Older People Services department. The role offers a 4-month experience focusing on general geriatrics, outpatient work, and acute frailty. Responsibilities include general ward work, teaching medical students, and involvement in quality improvement projects. Weekend working is required, but no overnight cover is needed.
We are looking for an enthusiastic junior clinical fellow with demonstrable interest in geriatrics to join the Older People Services (OPS) department at the Royal London hospital at FY1 level. The successful applicant will work predominantly within ward-based teams and under the supervision of OPS consultants. There will also be an opportunity to work across our other areas, such as Frailty and Trauma Peri operative older people services (TPOPS). This is a 4-month opportunity to gain experience throughout the Older People Services department in general geriatrics, outpatient work and acute frailty and TPOPS if desired. Responsibilities would include general ward work as well as participating in the local education programme and teaching medical students. It would be recommended to participate/lead on a quality improvement project or to contribute to the development of a clinical guideline. The post includes weekend working covering OPS wards on a rota with no overnight cover.
