Overview
The radiotherapy department sits within oncology outpatients. We treat approximately 1200 new patients including breast, prostate, lung, head & neck and GI. The service uses a Philips 16 slice wide bore CT scanner, one Halcyon and two Varian TrueBeam Linacs running on Aria with Eclipse planning, and an Xstrahl superficial skin unit. The service aims to implement practice development with opportunities for staff development through in-house training and commissioned CPD funding. There are two consultant radiographer posts and SABR for lung and oligometastatic disease is available, with exploration of further SABR and advanced practice opportunities.
We are continually looking to develop roles and the service within radiotherapy and encourage staff to contribute to improvements.
