Qualifications

Job description
Overview

We are recruiting for a Junior Resuscitation / IsSAFE Practitioner who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. You will join the Resuscitation Service to support the resuscitation improvement strategy and deliver the IsSAFE programme (In-situ Simulation Applying human Factors Evaluation) across the organisation's clinical areas, helping ensure the service develops to fulfil the needs of East and North Herts NHS Trust staff and maintain a safe environment for patients. You will work across the Trust to ensure effective and safe delivery of care, particularly in partnerships with teams such as critical care outreach and sepsis, with a drive to prevent patient deterioration. You will work with the Non-Medical Education team and Medical Education team to deliver training and in-situ simulation to all clinical staff employed by the Trust and support continued improvement in education across the Trust. Responsibilities
  • Participate in the planning, delivery, organisation and evaluation of training and in-situ simulation programmes delivered by the department.
  • Manage day-to-day operation of the resuscitation service delivery with other members of the team.
  • Provide training for the general public in both adult and paediatric life support when required.
  • Respond to 2222 calls for deteriorating patients and cardiac arrests, supported by the Senior Resuscitation / IsSAFE Practitioner.
  • Support investigations into in-patient cardiac arrests and deterioration.
  • Support the standardisation and development of the service to fulfil the needs of East and North Herts NHS Trust staff.

  • Professional clinical qualification (RN, ODP or Paramedic) with current UK registration (NMC or HCPC).
  • Relevant post-basic qualification (e.g., ENB 100/998/124).
  • RCUK ALS or EPALS provider Certificate
  • Generic Instructor Course Qualification (Resuscitation Council UK) or potential to become a GIC instructor within 4 years
  • ALS or EPALS Instructor/instructor candidate/instructor potential
  • Willingness to study and achieve further RCUK provider/instructor certificates
Desirable Qualifications
