Qualifications

The Opportunity
A growing main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial delivery across a portfolio of commercial and mixed use projects. The business delivers design to handover schemes with a focus on quality, repeat clients and long term partnerships.
- Lead cost planning, tendering, budgeting and commercial strategy from pre-construction through to completion
- Manage procurement, subcontractor selection, contract administration and negotiation
- Oversee valuations, variations, change control, cost reporting and final accounts
- Support delivery teams with commercial governance, risk management and profitability control
- Produce accurate commercial reports, cash flow forecasts and recommendations for senior leadership
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
- Background as a Commercial Manager or Senior QS within construction, ideally main contracting
- Strong understanding of JCT contracts, procurement routes and commercial controls
- Proven experience managing commercial delivery on multi-discipline commercial builds
- Confident negotiator with excellent financial control and reporting capability
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritise workload and maintain accuracy under pressure
- Professional, people centred approach with a focus on quality and long term client relationships
- Scope to take ownership of the commercial function across key projects
- Stable pipeline of commercial, industrial and mixed use schemes
- Hands on leadership team, supportive culture and clear progression pathway
