Hertility was born out of a need for preventative, personalised and dedicated expert healthcare across a woman’s hormonal lifespan. Hertility’s at-home diagnostic testing, telemedicine, treatments, prescriptions, and clinical services provide advanced insights into reproductive health, fertility decline, and the onset of menopause, as well as the diagnosis of 18 conditions. Hertility reduces diagnosis times for some conditions from nine years to six days. 🚀

You will be a foundational engineering hire, securing the platform for our next stage of growth. You’ll balance the "need for speed" with the absolute necessity of security and stability in a healthcare environment. You won't just be managing a team; you’ll be a technical visionary working directly with the Head of Engineering, the Product and Design teams, the Data team, and Clinical leads to define what the future of women’s health‑tech looks like.

While our Customer Pod builds the experience the world sees, the Ops Pod builds the sophisticated infrastructure that makes the revolution possible. As the Technical Lead for Ops Pod, you will lead the team responsible for our most complex internal systems: our Patient Management System (PMS), in‑house telemedicine and video platforms, clinician management tools, and the intricate logistics engine behind our blood testing kits.

We are entering a new era of AI‑driven healthcare. You will oversee the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) for automated clinical letter writing and call summarisation, as well as Machine Learning models for scan image analysis. This is a high‑impact role where you ensure our clinical and ops teams have state‑of‑the‑art tools to deliver care.

To be clear, we are not looking for experts in building ML models, rather the knowledge of how to incorporate them into a complex software system.

• Lead a Team of Engineers: Line manage 2–6 developers, providing mentorship, career coaching, and performance management.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Data, Clinical, Product, and Design teams to build the product roadmap and provide the "engineering point of view."
• Delivery Excellence: Take ownership of the OpsPod delivery cycle, estimating work accurately and ensuring the team hits milestones on time.
• Process Improvement: Proactively monitor the tech support board and take ownership of complex tickets that impact clinical operations.

• L5 Leadership Experience: You have a proven track record of managing engineering teams, delivering complex projects, and managing stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
• Full Stack Mastery: Expert command of TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Postgres, and AWS.
• AI/ML Fluency: You understand how to hook into LLMs and ML models safely and effectively.
• The "Ops" Mindset: You enjoy solving the "invisible" problems, optimising workflows for clinicians and operations teams to make their lives easier.
• Security & Stability: A deep understanding of how to move fast without breaking things, especially in a regulated environment.

You will report directly to Jack Pickard (Head of Engineering) and work alongside the Technical Lead of the Customer Pod. You will lead a dedicated pod of engineers and work closely with our Product, Design, Data and Clinical teams to ensure our operational systems are as innovative as our patient‑facing ones.

• Initial Phone Interview: A 15 minute conversation with a member of our Talent Team.
• Technical Experience & Values Interview: A 30‑minute call with Jack (Head of Engineering) to explore your technical background, problem‑solving approach, and alignment with our engineering values and ways of working.
• Task & Technical Discussion: You’ll be asked to complete a short technical task before this stage. The discussion will be held with Jack and Maxim (Customer Pod Tech Lead), focusing on how you approached the problem, your decision‑making process, and how you communicate technical concepts.
• Product & Design Collaboration Interview: A 20 minute call with Tulsi (Director of Product and Technology) and Mathilde (Senior Product Designer) to understand how you collaborate across Product and Design, communicate in cross‑functional environments, and contribute to a strong team culture.
• Final Interview: A final stage interview will be two parts with a 15 minute conversation with Dr.Natalie Getreu our COO and Co‑Founder and a 15 minute conversation with Helen O’Neill our CEO and Founder.
