At Cancer Research UK, we exist to beat cancer.
We have an opportunity within our Drug Discovery team for an experienced and passionate Senior Scientist to contribute scientific expertise to the design, prosecution, and analysis of cellular assays, including bespoke mechanistic data and compound profiling.
As the world's largest medical research charity, we've helped bring eleven new cancer drugs to market. Our goal is to develop more effective treatments faster. We recently created Cancer Research Horizons (CRH), uniting our drug discovery teams to leverage our pipeline of cancer biology expertise, academic network, cutting-edge technology, and clinical insight to accelerate cancer treatment development.
Based across Cambridge, Glasgow, London, and Newcastle, CRH employs approximately 200 staff from industrial and academic backgrounds.
Our strategy emphasizes deep mechanistic understanding at the molecular and cellular levels throughout project stages, from idea to pre-clinical candidate.
This role focuses on designing, developing, and running cellular assays to identify, profile, and characterize small molecules' SAR/SKR, and their mechanisms of action to inform dose prediction and clinical efficacy. You will drive innovation by staying current with cellular pharmacology techniques, contribute to process improvements, and collaborate with partners to advance cancer targets towards patient benefit.
We seek an accomplished scientist with:
Bold: Act with ambition, courage, and determination
Credible: Act with rigour and professionalism
Human: Act to positively impact people
Together: Act inclusively and collaboratively
We seek individuals who embody these values to help us beat cancer.
