We are a global, technical learning publisher with over 400 staff based across the globe, primarily in India and the UK. We are one of the fastest growing tech publishers and eLearning providers in the world with over 8,000 books and video courses.

A key part of delivering on this mission is ensuring that our learning products are produced, maintained, and distributed to a consistently high standard. Our production teams play a central role in transforming licensed and internally developed content into high quality, market ready products that meet Packt’s editorial, technical, and platform requirements. The Production Editor role supports this by owning the end-to-end production process, safeguarding quality, and ensuring that content is published accurately, efficiently, and on schedule across Packt’s distribution channels.

Role Overview

A Production Editor is responsible for managing the end-to-end production process for licensed learning products at Packt. The role focuses on ensuring that content is prepared, validated, and published accurately and on time across Packt’s distribution channels. Working closely with internal teams, the Production Editor coordinates assets, metadata, and quality checks to ensure all outputs meet Packt’s editorial and technical standards.
The role also supports the ongoing health of the catalogue by identifying quality issues, coordinating corrections, and ensuring product information remains accurate and up to date. Where issues or risks are identified, the Production Editor is responsible for escalating them to the appropriate stakeholders and supporting their resolution, helping to maintain a reliable and high‑quality publishing pipeline.

What You Will Do
  • Manage the end-to-end production and publication of licensed learning products across Packt’s distribution channels.
  • Secure, prepare, and deploy content assets in line with agreed timelines and quality standards.
  • Package courses and validate formatting, metadata, and technical integrity before publication.
  • Capture, audit, and maintain accurate product information within internal systems.
  • Perform quality checks across the published catalogue and identify discrepancies or risks.
  • Coordinate with Senior Editors and stakeholders to resolve production, quality, or technical issues.
  • Support post‑publication corrections, reporting, and continuous improvement of production workflows.
  • Collaborate with customer‑facing teams to help resolve queries related to published products.
  • Provide job support and constructive feedback to peers to improve consistency and quality.
KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
  • Meet defined publication timelines, including a 15‑day turnaround from contracting to publication for licensed video products.
  • Deliver accurate and error‑free publication of products in line with Packt’s editorial and quality standards.
  • Manage publishing workflows for key distribution channels, ensuring timely launches and updates.
  • Maintain high catalogue quality through proactive issue identification and resolution.
  • Support customer and partner queries by providing timely and accurate information.
  • Work closely with the distribution team to meet platform‑specific requirements and ensure smooth content delivery.
Who You Are

The work we do is fast‑paced, demanding, and intellectually challenging. We are looking for dynamic candidates with an interest in technology and project management.

  • 2+ years’ experience working with digital learning content, including course building, review, and transcript quality checks.
  • A general understanding of technical concepts, software development, and current technology trends.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a consistent focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and give constructive feedback.
  • A proactive, practical problem solver who can adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and online collaboration tools, with working knowledge of GitHub for basic content checks.
  • A reliable remote working setup, including a stable internet connection suitable for large file transfers (e.g., 100 Mbps connection).
