A leading healthcare provider in Gravesend is seeking a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join their team at Gravesham Community Hospital. In this full-time position, you will support registered nurses in delivering high-quality care to patients with diverse needs. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, along with NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent experience in healthcare. The role offers a salary of £23,100 and various employee benefits.
As a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant, you will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team on the Ward, providing high-quality support to the registered nurses in delivering care to a range of complex patients. You will work with increasing autonomy under the guidance of senior staff and contribute to the ongoing care and well-being of inpatients.
Your role will involve assisting in the care of patients with diverse and sometimes complex healthcare needs, including those with life-limiting conditions, patients at the end of life, and individuals requiring support to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions or enable a swift discharge. You will play a key part in ensuring these patients receive the appropriate care and support to meet their clinical needs, helping to manage their physical and emotional well-being.
In this role, you will take on a responsibility contributing to clinical tasks such as taking observations, assisting in the preparation and monitoring of treatment plans, and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of patient care. You will be expected to show initiative, use your growing clinical knowledge, and support the Ward team in the day-to-day care of patients.
This is a dynamic and varied role where no two days are the same. As you work closely with patients and the multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills, while making a tangible difference to the care and recovery of those who need it most. The position is full-time (37.5 hours per week) based at Gravesham Community Hospital, where our services continue to evolve to meet the diverse needs of our local population.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organisation skills and have the ability to recognise own abilities and work within sphere of competence. We are looking for someone who is a friendly, approachable team player who can work flexibly and will ensure they deliver positive experiences to patients at every stage of their healthcare journey. An NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.
It is desirable that you have experience dealing with the general public within a healthcare setting; however it is not essential that you have worked in a care setting before as we provide full training when in post.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you’ll be part of our valued team based on an inpatient Sapphire Ward at Gravesham Community Hospital in Gravesend, North Kent.
