A prominent healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a Senior Cancer Analyst to join their Analysis & Reporting team. This role involves leading cancer programs and ensuring high-quality data support across the Cancer directorate. Candidates must possess extensive NHS analytics experience and be skilled in data extraction and analysis, particularly regarding cancer pathways. Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

The Healthcare Analytics department within Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Senior Cancer Analyst to join its Analysis & Reporting team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who has established analyst experience, including cancer reporting
knowledge, to join us. The Healthcare Analytics department is pivotal to ensuring the data and analytics needs of the organisation are met and in
supporting the organisation to make data driven, evidence based, decisions. This is particularly important for the cancer agenda, supporting pathway improvements and reporting.
The Analysis and Reporting team is a welcoming, experienced and supportive team. There are clear and documented processes to help the team members navigate through the various requirements of their roles. You will work to deliver an effective service supporting managers and staff across the Cancer directorate to use analysis and insights to help improve outcomes for patients. The role supports driving transformation and will provide subject matter expertise analytics. There will be no line management responsibility but the candidate will work closely with other members of the team.
To support home working there are daily huddles to understand priorities for the day, key achievements and successes to be celebrated and opportunity to raise any issues or identify where support is required.
The Senior Cancer Analyst is responsible for leading on allocated cancer programmes of work and ensuring the delivery of high quality support
across the Cancer directorate. The wider team is responsible for the submission of statutory returns, production of regular reporting, development of new reports in Power BI and completion of ad hoc data requests for the Trust. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of core cancer related functions within the team ensuring that information provided is accurate, complete, timely and adds value.
You will need to have extensive NHS analytics experience including experience of extracting, processing and analysing data from different source systems. You will need to be able to demonstrate a good understanding of cancer pathways and preferably have experience in cancer analysis and reporting. Previous experience of working with the Somerset Cancer Management system would be an advantage.
