Job summary
A prominent engineering services company is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join their well-established team in Croydon. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join a well-established team on a permanent basis at a large, prestigious site in Croydon. This role will involve overseeing a team of shift engineers while ensuring all engineering operations and processes are carried out in full compliance with statutory and safety requirements.
- Provide technical advice and support to site-based Authorised Persons (APs)
- Lead, plan, and deliver agreed changes to drive continuous improvement and enhance site performance
- Assess, appoint, and manage all Authorised Persons, maintaining the Certified Persons Register
- Ensure all planned preventative maintenance is completed to a high standard and that scopes of work are appropriate for the installed equipment
- Develop, implement, and maintain action plans following internal and external audits, including annual audits from Authorising Engineers, ensuring timely and accurate close‑out
- Collaborate with site-based Authorised Persons to produce a forward maintenance register and capital investment plan to support proactive estate management
- Conduct regular assessments of site-based Authorised Persons, ensuring all training and appointments remain valid and up to date
- Maintain consistency and accuracy across all site logbooks
- Participate in callout rota
- Ensure the permit‑to‑work system is fully compliant and fit for purpose
- Review, check, and authorise all relevant HV switching programmes
- Proven experience operating in an Authorised Person (AP) role
- HV & LV Authorised, with the ability to write and authorise HV switching schedules
- Extensive knowledge of Building Services Engineering
- Strong supervisory and people‑management experience
- Qualified to HNC/HND level or equivalent
- Full Electrical, Mechanical, or Air Conditioning qualifications
- Monday to Friday - 40‑hour working week
- 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
