We are currently recruiting for a Plant Supervisor - Readymix (RMX) to join our Readymix team at the Tarmac Sellafield Concrete Plant, Cumbria. This role is accessible from Seascale, Egremont, Whitehaven, Workington, Cleator Moor, Cockermouth, Broughton-in-Furness, Kirkby-in-Furness, and surrounding areas.

Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Plant Supervisor - Readymix is responsible for overseeing plant operations and supporting the RMX Production Manager. Safety, operational standards, customer delivery, and performance improvement are key focus areas.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities include:

• Supporting the Production Manager in managing plant compliance with policies and procedures
• Batching concrete to meet customer needs and quality standards
• Ensuring timely Readymix deliveries, coordinating with Distribution Teams
• Collaborating with Technical Teams for quality control
• Managing haulier operations, coordinating collection loads
• Supervising contractors (no direct reports)
• Overseeing daily production, costs, and stock control
• Ensuring legislative compliance
• Prioritizing safety for all colleagues, contractors, and partners
• Maintaining high standards of site housekeeping

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience in plant operations, preferably within Ready Mix or Aggregates sectors, though manufacturing experience in heavy industry is also valued.

• Flexibility and adaptability, including overtime availability
• Knowledge of Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, and HSE policies
• Understanding of production processes
• IOSH Managing Safely qualification (training available)
• NVQ in plant operations (training available)

Please note: employment is contingent upon obtaining a P4 security pass for the Sellafield site.
