Qualifications

Job description

Position Title: Production Operative D Shift

Position Type: Regular - Full-Time

Department: Manufacturing

Reports to: Shift Manager / Team Leader

Location: Wombourne

Overall Purpose

To effectively and efficiently operate machinery ensuring area performance is optimised and in line with business requirements, Quality and Food Safety.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Operating production machines to deliver production targets whilst ensuring that all OEE HS&E and quality targets and standards are met.
  • Compliance with all company policies, management procedures, systems of work and standard operating procedures.
  • Respond pro-actively to hour-by-hour variances to support abnormality management.
  • Support the area SQDC process ensuring that hourly performance boards are updated; any issues are highlighted promptly with appropriate escalation at all times.
  • Work towards and support achievement of plant-wide multi-skilled status to include assistance of training new operatives in the area and cover in other roles when appropriate training has been given.
  • Support the immediate solving of work problems and participate where necessary in the work of the wider production team.
  • To ensure that you are working to the company code of conduct and upholding Company Standards at all times including but not limited to HSE Food Safety 5s & SAP.
  • To be accountable for your personal safety and others who may be affected by the companys activities.
  • Adhere to the company food safety and quality policy establishing practices to maintain a Food Safety and Quality focused mind-set that holds both yourself and others to account for those standards.
  • Promoting and enforcing behaviours and actions that will prevent all contamination threats to products whether physical microbial or chemical.
  • Actively contribute to a continuous improvement culture.
  • Carry out any reasonable additional duties as and when requested.
Person Specification
Experience
  • Previous experience in a production / packing operative role (Desirable)
  • Operator asset care / maintenance (Desirable)
Knowledge
  • Working from set procedures making minor decisions using own judgements (Essential)
  • Understanding and interpreting KPIs (Desirable)
  • Understanding of AIB and GMP standards and audits (Desirable)
  • Continuous Improvement principles and practices including 5s SQDCPE (Desirable)
  • SAP shop floor processes (Desirable)
