This is a unique opportunity to take a senior role in a multi‑disciplinary team supporting the continuing development of an integrated Cardio‑Pulmonary Exercise Testing (CPET) and Prehabilitation service.
UHL has been delivering an Anaesthetist‑led CPET service for more than 10years to support surgical decision‑making. Over the last three years, the team have introduced Physiologist delivered CPET clinics. The successful applicant will deliver CPET clinics, in addition to referral triage and clinic management including equipment maintenance and staff supervision.
Prehabilitation is an emerging clinical speciality providing patient‑centred care and utilising multi‑modal interventions to support people to prepare both physically and emotionally for major surgery, usually for cancer. The UHL Fit4Surgery intervention has been running for 5 years and comprises both face‑to‑face assessment and exercise sessions with home‑based exercise to support patients. This role will also include a prehabilitation caseload and hence provides a fantastic opportunity to combine different clinical skills to provide seamless patient‑centred care.
The successful applicant will have a proven track record of managing and developing physiologist‑delivered clinical services and excellent clinical physiology skills. The role will support you to enhance your skills as a clinical practitioner by working within the CPET and Prehabilitation department.
