Job description

Here at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, the Theatres, Anaesthetics, Pre-operative Assessment, and Perioperative Pain (TAPP) Directorate is expanding its clinical education provision. We are currently recruiting for a Band 7 Clinical Practice Educator to join our growing team. If you are a registered (NMC and HCPC) professional with substantial experience in surgical scrub, anaesthetics, and/or recovery, we would love to hear from you.

The post holder will need a strong work ethic, self-awareness, and the ability to recognize their limitations and areas for development. The right candidate should also be able to demonstrate significant involvement in supporting and training staff in clinical practice.

We are looking for someone who is committed to the team, has excellent organisational and communication skills, and is passionate about improving patient care. In return, this role offers opportunities to enhance your perioperative and leadership knowledge and skills.

Main duties of the job
  • To maintain an effective educational environment through 'on the job' coaching and staff development in a variety of clinical settings, whilst working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to enable delivery of high quality effective care, thus improving the patients' experience.
  • To act as an expert practitioner, resource and role model; to encourage evidence based practice, providing support and supervision for all staff, including those on professional development courses.
  • To be responsible for the development of programmes of education and training; whilst demonstrating awareness of cultural and learning diversity in the workplace and the need to adapt training accordingly.
  • To collaborate with strategy development and be responsible for the achievement of educational targets. The post holder will contribute to ensuring a conducive work environment and he/she will be a change agent with a strong professional and clinical focus.
