A leading university in the UK is seeking an IMRY Administration Coordinator to support operations and research within the Institute of Mental Health Research. You will manage administrative tasks, attend meetings and events, and collaborate across various teams to enhance partnerships. The ideal candidate should possess strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and handle complex queries. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful research while engaged with multiple stakeholders.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the Institute of Mental Health Research at York (IMRY), a research institute driving bold and collaborative research, working with partners across disciplines to improve how we understand, prevent, and treat mental health conditions.
At IMRY, we collaborate with external partners across the NHS, social care, education, academia, the justice system, industry, charities, and communities to ensure our research is grounded in real-world challenges.
Through innovative and interdisciplinary approaches, we generate evidence that informs better policies, practices, and interventions, helping to improve lives and strengthen communities.
As IMRY Administration Coordinator, you will develop an in-depth understanding of IMRY, working closely with the Director to facilitate and support strategic operations and research. You will be expected to act with a degree of independence to prioritise and manage a diverse range of administrative tasks including general and specialised administration, strategic committee and governance support, research and event management, and both internal and external communications.
While aligned with IMRY, this position is also part of a wider team of professional services staff (PSS) working across the University of York’s four core research institutes but not part of a completely shared service. This requires flexibility to collaborate with and support other coordinators on various projects and events, and to provide administrative assistance to specialised staff in areas such as finance, communications, and business development as required.
The role holder will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to multitask and prioritise to meet the dynamic needs of the research institute. You will attend various meetings, events and workshops in person to strengthen and develop IMRY’s internal and external partnerships.
Interview date: To be confirmed
For informal enquiries: Prof Scott Cairney, Director, the Institute of Mental Health Research at York on scott.cairney@york.ac.uk or Claire Hughes, Administration Manager on claire.hughes@york.ac.uk
