Job Title: General Builder


Location: Birmingham & Surrounding Areas

Pay: £220-£250 per day (per person)

Job Overview:

We are seeking experienced and reliable General Builders for ongoing work across Birmingham and nearby areas. The work involves a wide range of general building tasks, with a strong focus on extensions. Roofing is not part of this scope.

You’ll need solid experience in all aspects of domestic building work—especially groundwork, footings, drainage, brick/blockwork, internal structural changes, and finishing touches up to roof level. Labourers must be hands-on, proactive, and capable of supporting the builder efficiently.

Roles & Responsibilities:

General Builder:

• Set out and dig footings to spec
• Pour concrete and install drainage
• Build cavity walls, extensions, and boundary walls
• Lintels, steels, internal knock-throughs, insulation
• Coordinate with other trades when needed
• Maintain site safety and cleanliness
• Work efficiently with a dedicated labourer
  
  

(Labourer: Rate £140 per day)

• Assist builder with mixing, lifting, loading, and moving materials
• Keep site tidy and manage waste
• Help with preparation and cleanup of footings, concrete, and brickwork
• Carry tools, erect basic supports and assist with measurements
• Be proactive and ready to learn or take instruction
  
  

Requirements:

• Proven experience in domestic extensions/general building (builder role)
• CSCS card preferred but not essential
• Own tools and transport essential
• UTR number (CIS paid)
• Reliable, punctual, and hard-working
• Able to work independently or in a 2-man gang
