A leading recruitment agency is seeking a practical Engineering Manager to oversee the engineering team in a food manufacturing environment. This hands-on role emphasizes leadership, problem-solving, and compliance with safety standards. Ideal candidates will have mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications and experience. Salary is competitive between £50k - £55k, with expected hours of 40-45 per week, Monday to Friday.

Skills
Education
A leading food manufacturing site is seeking a practical and highly motivated Engineering Manager. This role is hands-on, with 60–70% of your time on the factory floor, leading the engineering team and ensuring equipment runs safely, efficiently and with minimal downtime.
- Lead, develop and motivate the engineering team
- Prioritise and manage engineering workloads and resource planning
- Maintain plant, equipment and systems in line with legislation
- Diagnose and resolve issues quickly to keep production running
- Deliver effective PPM systems and engineering stores management
- Champion best practice, continuous improvement and new technologies
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, GMP and H&S standards
- Contribute to HACCP, TACCP and VACCP activities
- Support flexible working and on‑call requirements
- Qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer (16th/17th Edition desirable)
- Strong hands‑on experience with mechanical and electrical systems
- Leadership experience, ideally in food manufacturing
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills
- Calm under pressure, detail‑focussed and proactive
- NEBOSH/IOSH and food hygiene qualifications advantageous
