An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join Bedfordshire Hospital Clinical Engineering/ EBME Team, providing medical device maintenance support at Lutonamp; Dunstable University Hospital.

We are looking to recruit a suitably experienced/ keen to learn Medical Equipment Library and Office Assistant Administrator to support our team in providing a full range of medical equipment maintenance services.

Ideally, you will be qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent and have some experience in using a database system

Provide Equipment Library support, along with secretarial and administrative assistance to the Clinical Engineering Manager and Clinical Devices Trainer. This will include general correspondence, support in organising educational activities, recording of data and information on Equipment Library, telephone cover,, uploading internal/external service reports, taking deliveries and photocopying.

Book in all deliveries of Medical Equipment and consumables to enable all invoices to be cleared for payment. Responsible for the control of all clerical related stock and non-stock (non-technical) items within the Department.

Assist with the control of stock level, stock valuation, minimisation of waste, stock room organisation and layout.

To assist with Medical Equipment Library (MEL) and administrative tasks for the Clinical Engineering Manager, Clinical Devices Trainer, Equipment Library Support, and Technical Team Leader, while also offering support to the entire department.

Produce reports of collated statistical data as required. To be the first point call for queries through the electronic Clinical Engineering Helpdesk. There is a comprehensive range of work procedures some ofwhich are not routine but may require a high level of concentration and detail.

• To responsible for the efficient day-to-day running of the Medical Equipment Library (MEL), as well as handling clerical and administrative duties within the Department of Clinical Engineering and Maintenance.

• NVQ Business Administration L3 or Equivalent experience.
• Proficient user of Microsoft word, Excel
• ECDL

• Experience in procurement i.e placing orders, goods received and clearing invoices.
• Experience working in a multi-tasked office.
• Sound Knowledge and Understanding in the use and maintenance of Equipment database.
• Previous work within a Healthcare/ Engineering Service.

• Have a high degree of business and office knowledge to enable the efficient working of a busy office.
• Have an all-round knowledge to enable the interpretation of complex Medical Engineering/ devices terms and description.
• Knowledge of computerised database

• Have a flexible approach to work to meet service demands.
• Ability to travel throughout both Trusts as and when required by Senior Management.
