Deputy Headteacher – Waterloo Lodge School

• Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum (not pro‑rata)
• Hours: 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30
• Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
• Start Date: January 2026

Waterloo Lodge School is an independent specialist day school for students aged 10 to 18, supporting young people with a wide range of needs across Lancashire, Manchester and surrounding areas. The school values a friendly, inclusive community where teamwork and respect are paramount.

• Co‑lead strategic planning and drive high standards in teaching, learning, and school improvement alongside the Headteacher.
• Shape and deliver the whole‑school vision for high‑quality education, ensuring the curriculum is broad, balanced, and responsive to pupil needs.
• Promote evidence‑based, innovative teaching practice throughout the school and evaluate and raise the quality of teaching, learning and outcomes.
• Ensure adherence to safeguarding standards, SEND legislation and regulatory frameworks.
• Support recruitment, training, performance management, coaching and CPD for staff.
• Deputise for the Headteacher and represent the school when required.

• Clear vision for teaching, learning, curriculum and whole‑school improvement.
• Leadership experience in an educational setting, ideally within a specialist provision.
• Strong integrity, confidence and emotional intelligence.
• Commitment to inclusive education and a track record of striving for exceptional pupil outcomes.
