Job description

As a Learning Support Training Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating group-wide training for staff on all aspects of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This includes sourcing and delivering training, and liaising with curriculum departments. You will develop strong and effective relationships with curriculum links and members of the Learning Support team to share and develop good practice, including the promotion of Quality First Teaching (QFT). Your responsibilities will include ensuring all staff are aware of their statutory responsibilities in line with current legislation and local policies and procedures. You will instigate, develop, and facilitate cross-college Additional Learning Support related work streams and projects, working with leaders and engaging staff and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will support the quality assurance of Additional Learning Support policies and procedures across the college, developing action plans and monitoring achievement towards these.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in working collaboratively with other teams to ensure stability and consistency for student support. Experience in delivering training sessions and coordinating, delivering, and evaluating training is essential. You should possess thorough and up-to-date knowledge of government policy in relation to education and training, particularly its impact on learners with Additional Learning Support needs. Strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise tasks, and manage complex caseloads are crucial. Excellent communication skills are required to effectively engage with a wide range of stakeholders. A degree-level education or equivalent higher-level qualification is preferred, along with an appropriate professional qualification or significant experience in training coordination and delivery within an Additional Learning Support context. A commitment to continuous professional development and the ability to work flexibly, including supporting college events, is essential.
