An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Adult Services Transport Assistant to join our Adult Services Transport team at Hampshire County Council.

The Adult Services Transport team provides a high level of customer service to Adults’ Health and Care by procuring safe, appropriate and value for money transport for their clients. This is achieved by providing a key front line customer interface for Adults’ Health and Care social workers and innovative transport solutions to their clients.

The team organises transport on behalf of Adults' Health and Care. Whilst this role is generally office based in Winchester, it is currently being carried out through a mixture of days in the office and working from home. Full equipment will be provided to enable home working.

• Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders to manage the provision of transport required for individual passengers, responding to transport requests and ‘on the ground’ operational issues
• Procure and award all transport in line with the County Council’s standing orders, ensuring value for money
• Record and respond to complaints and take necessary action to maintain and improve transport services
• Accurately record all transport and expenditure in relevant computer systems

• Proven administrative and organisational skills with the ability to work calmly under pressure and the ability to prioritise own workloads
• Ability to exercise discretion regarding sensitive tasks
• A team player with strong collaborative skills
• Excellent communication skills for building positive relationships with a diverse range of people, including colleagues, operators and day centres
• Sound IT skills and able to accurately record information
