Deputy Manager CQC

Marva Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. As a leading provider of residential care services, we are committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care to our residents and their families.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strong leader who is ready to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the service and play a key role in maintaining excellent standards of care and compliance.

About the Role

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Home Manager to support the effective management of the service. You will help ensure the service remains fully compliant with Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations, while leading, motivating, and developing the staff team to deliver outstanding care.

You will also act as the Registered Manager in their absence and contribute to continuous improvement across the service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Registered Manager in ensuring full compliance with CQC regulations and quality standards
  • Assist with the day-to-day management of the service, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care at all times
  • Lead, supervise, and support the care team, promoting good practice and professional development
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and external healthcare professionals
  • Support recruitment, induction, and retention of staff, ensuring safe staffing levels
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and action plans to continuously improve care quality
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures in line with best practice
  • Help manage resources effectively and support budget control
  • Respond to concerns or complaints in a timely, professional, and compassionate manner
  • Ensure health and safety, safeguarding, and infection control procedures are followed
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
  • Experience in a senior care role (e.g. Deputy Manager, Senior Care Lead, or similar) within a care home setting
  • Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations and inspection processes
  • Confident leadership skills with the ability to support, motivate, and develop a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational and time‑management abilities
  • Understanding of health and safety, safeguarding, and infection control requirements
  • A compassionate, resident‑focused approach to care
  • Willingness to progress towards Registered Manager status (desirable)
