A local council in Halifax is looking for a transport services role to safely transport children and individuals with disabilities to their destinations. This position requires a Category D1 licence and experience working with young people. Candidates must be flexible with working hours, mainly during term time. The role can be physically demanding and involves assisting passengers as needed. Competitive salary and benefits are provided.

Transport Services has an excellent reputation for providing the transport requirements of school children with special needs and/or disabilities and older people with disabilities.
To transport service users safely and in comfort in accordance with the daily schedule or as instructed by officers within Transport Services. Ensure that all duties undertaken are in accordance with Council/Departmental policies, procedures, standards or statutory requirements, including equal opportunities and anti‑discriminatory practice.
The role involves working as a Passenger Attendant or Driver, collecting passengers from their home and transporting them to school/day care centres, with the reverse journey in the afternoon.
We are seeking an individual who has experience of working with children and young people, is enthusiastic, caring and passionate about helping others. The successful applicant will need to be flexible in their approach to working hours as this is a split shift post. The successful applicant needs to be available for work between 06:45–10:30 and 13:30–18:00 (term time only).
The role can be physically demanding at times, including manoeuvring/clamping wheelchairs and assisting passengers who may need physical support.
