Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Glasgow is seeking a Cost Manager to drive performance standards and support project managers in financial reviews. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cost engineering, preferably from a regulated environment, and experience with NEC Contracts. This hybrid position requires 3 days at the office. Applicants must meet SC Clearance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Project Controls or Commercial team on complex projects.
  • Detailed knowledge of cost engineering, preferably in regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of NEC Contracts and CEMAR.

  • Drive performance standards and technical excellence through communication.
  • Support Project Manager(s) in finance and delivery reviews.
  • Provide informed cost forecasts for the Project.
  • Ensure forecasts are aligned with the programme.

Accountabilities
  • Drive performance standards and technical excellence through expert communication.
  • Support Project Manager(s) and Programme Manager in Monthly Finance and Delivery Reviews.
  • Support on Cost Engineering functions by working with Project Manager(s) to provide informed forecasts for the Project (for the Financial Year and Project Lifecycle).
  • Collaborate with the Project Planner to ensure forecasts are informed and aligned to the programme.
  • Review and Track Costs and Forecasts to ensure and demonstrate continued affordability.
  • Produce Cost Reporting Outputs in a timely manner for month‑end reporting, inputting into all relevant internal financial systems.
  • Attend monthly supplier Project Meetings and carry out associated contract administration as required.
Qualifications & Skills

Experience of working in a wider Project Controls or Commercial team on complex projects. Detailed working knowledge of cost engineering functions, cost control and cost analysis preferably from a nuclear or highly regulated environment.

Location

This position is hybrid with 3 days per week at the office in Glasgow City Centre.
