Job summary
A leading residential developer in Highbridge seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to oversee the commercial and cost management of Phase 3 of a prominent new build project. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the residential sector and strong knowledge of JCT contracts. This role offers a chance to take a lead position on a significant scheme and ensure its successful completion.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the residential new build sector.
- Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and procurement processes.
- Ability to manage cost control and budgets effectively.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all commercial and cost management aspects of Phase 3.
- Manage procurement of remaining packages and materials.
- Prepare, review, and negotiate sub-contractor orders and payments.

Our client, a well-established residential developer, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team and take ownership of a key project in Southampton – a 104-unit new build development. Phases 1 and 2 have been successfully completed, and the company is now moving forward with Phase 3 following the previous contractor entering administration. The building is already watertight, with internal fit‑out works remaining — including kitchens, bathrooms, and finishing elements. This is a great opportunity to take a lead commercial role on a live, sizeable scheme and see it through to completion.
- Oversee all commercial and cost management aspects of Phase 3.
- Manage procurement of remaining packages and materials (kitchens, bathrooms, finishes, etc.).
- Prepare, review, and negotiate sub-contractor orders and payments.
- Conduct regular cost reporting and forecasting.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and Site Team to ensure financial and contractual control.
- Maintain strong communication with stakeholders, clients, and suppliers.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the residential new build sector.
- Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and procurement processes.
- Ability to manage cost control and budgets effectively.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline ().
