A growing and ambitious business based in Kirkbymoorside is currently recruiting for a Temporary Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional or an ambitious individual looking to further develop their accounting skills in a supportive and fast-paced environment. On offer is a competitive salary of circa £29,000, along with the chance to work within a friendly, collaborative team.

• Assisting with day-to-day transactional finance, including purchase and sales ledger processing
• Supporting month‑end reporting and bank reconciliations
• Preparing and posting journal entries and assisting with accruals and prepayments
• Managing invoicing, credit control, and resolving supplier queries promptly
• Assisting with VAT returns and other compliance tasks
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the wider finance team as required
• Contributing to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy across finance operations

• Previous experience in a similar accounts or finance support role
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate and analyse data confidently
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

This excellent opportunity is based in Kirkbymoorside and is easily commutable from Pickering, Helmsley, Malton, Thirsk, Norton, and Scarborough, as well as surrounding North Yorkshire areas. The site offers free on‑site parking, making it convenient whether you drive or commute locally.
