A leading NHS Trust in Coventry seeks a skilled Midwife to provide excellent maternity care. You will be accountable for patient management, clinical assessments, and support for midwifery students. The role offers opportunities for personal development and participation in special projects. Applicants must be registered with the NMC and possess a passion for maternity care.

At UHCW we deliver around 6000 babies and women are able to choose whether they birth in the obstetric led unit, Lucina the alongside midwifery led unit or in the community, within their own home.

Our midwives have the opportunity to maintain their skills in all areas with our rotational programme, providing care in all settings. In addition to this we offer dedicated specialist teams offering Enhanced Maternal care, Complex Care Continuity Team supporting maternal medicine, perinatal mental health clinics and preterm prevention, and Continuity of Carer including women from culturally diverse backgrounds in collaboration with Coventry MAMTA Project Centre.
If you are a band 5 Midwife you will be supported by our award‑winning team of Clinical Preceptor Support Midwives (CPSM’s) who will provide you with a named preceptor to provide additional pastoral support should it be required. We have a team of 9 Professional Midwifery Advocates (PMA), supported by a Lead PMA to provide restorative clinical supervision.
We are a forward‑thinking department, with many opportunities for midwives to become involved in a variety of specialities and workstreams including recruitment, service and staff development and as Pathway to Excellence Ambassador. Individual career aspirations will be nurtured and fully supported to enhance career progression including internal leadership programmes and collaboration with the Florence Nightingale Foundation.
