Trust in Fife operates two homeless accommodation hostels in Kirkcaldy providing support and guidance to people aged 16 and over who have found themselves homeless. We also provide support to people in the private rented sector through the Fife Private Rental Solutions (FPRS) team. Our charity shop, The Cairn Centre, supports a team of volunteers and offers value for money products in the local community. All this helps us to work towards achieving our mission of taking positive steps towards assisting vulnerable and homeless people in Fife.
TiF is seeking a motivated person to join our experienced team of housing support staff, who provide a positive, enabling environment within a supported temporary accommodation setting.
Your goal will be to assist individuals who have varying levels of need, to gain independent living skills and to prepare them to move into and sustain more permanent housing. The duties of the Housing Support Worker are varied but include managing and maintaining the homeless hostels including reporting repairs and general cleaning duties, carrying out support work with clients and administration tasks including updating client files on the database system. There is also a requirement to participate in an on‑call rota.
An SVQ II in health and social care is desirable. However, applications are also welcome from people who have experience in a similar setting and have a willingness to complete their qualification alongside working. Maintaining registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and a suitable PVG return are also requirements for the role.
