Commissionaires BC is looking for a Security Supervisor to work at an outreach shelter in Vernon. Candidates who are interested or have worked with at-risk and vulnerable individuals would be ideal.

Shifts: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm

Payrate: $24.00

• Foot patrols of residential building, interior and exterior
• Maintaining a safe environment for all, handling any crisis situations in a calm and controlled manner
• Offering first class customer service to the client, service users and members of the public
• Work with and respect the diverse community of Kelowna, supporting and guiding where needed
• Access Control
• Proactively responding to and resolving emergency situations and conflicts
• Maintaining detailed and accurate daily logs and incident reports
• Effectively communicating problems or concerns to the Site Supervisor
• Maintain up-to-date Post Orders and Site Safety, Risk, and Quality Assurance assessments
• Submit reports, time sheets, and staff evaluations as per deadlines
• Assist with training and scheduling of Commissionaires
• Leading through empowerment, and monitoring staff morale, discipline, and progress
• Ensure team maintains a professional standard of conduct, dress and deportment
• Reporting to the site supervisor and operations management for further duties as necessary

• Valid BC Security License
• Basic First Aid Certificate (OFA 1 or equivalent)
• Excellent English oral and written skills
• Previous supervisory experience would be an asset

• Able to conduct extensive foot patrols both indoors and outdoors in a range of weather conditions
