This is an exciting opportunity for a practical, results-focused lawyer to join the legal department of a growing company in the important real estate development sector, building and operating purpose-built rentals from dirt to door.

In this role, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to build a legal career in an important and growing real-estate space while helping to deliver the housing that Canadians need.

1. Provide accurate, timely and practical legal advice to all departments within the organization.
2. Manage external litigation counsel in all areas of litigation including construction and personal injury.
3. Draft and review litigation documents including notices of civil claim and responses to civil claim.
4. Work closely with other members of the legal team.
5. Draft legal agreements and other legal documents.
6. Manage risk as a facilitator of business operations.
7. Actively participate in building and maintaining our positive office environment.

1. LLB / JD or equivalent.
2. Minimum two years post-call experience.
3. Member in good standing of the Law Society of B.C. or ability to transfer from other provincial law society.
4. Preference for experience in corporate commercial, construction, litigation.
5. Critical thinker who takes a practical approach to problem-solving.
6. Ability to manage multiple work assignments and competing priorities under tight timelines.
7. Team player, but with the ability to work independently when required with minimum supervision and a high degree of personal initiative.
