Job summary
A security services provider is seeking Security Guards for the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal. This customer-facing role involves ensuring passenger safety and security during travel. Candidates need a valid BC Security License and excellent communication skills. The position requires being physically capable for extended durations and being reliable. Hourly compensation is $20.60, and the environment can vary in weather conditions, enhancing the dynamic nature of the job.
Qualifications

- Comfortable using radio communication tools.
- Capable of writing clear reports on job-related activities.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in varying weather conditions.
- Physically capable of standing and walking for long periods.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and security of ferry terminals.
- Act as a visible presence to deter safety issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to passengers.
- Perform security procedures including inspections and check-ups.
- Identify and report safety hazards.
- Support passenger safety during travel.

Our Security Guards are offered employment in a dynamic role in one of the most unique work environments that BC Ferries has to offer. This customer-facing role has the crucial responsibility of making our passengers feel safe and secure as they travel from coast to coast.
Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal
- Ensure the safety and security of ferry terminals
- Act as a visible security presence and deterrent to support a safe environment
- Engage with the public to provide assistance, direction, and exceptional customer service
- Perform security procedures including unlock/lock-up checks and routine inspections
- Operate communication tools such as radios and escalates incidents as necessary
- Identify, report, and help mitigate safety hazards
- Support passenger safety and satisfaction during coast-to-coast travel
- BC Security License
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable with radio communication
- Ability to write reports on job-related activities
- Comfort working independently and in varying weather conditions
- Punctuality and reliability
- Physically capable of standing and walking for a duration of 8 hours
- $20.60/hr
