About the Fund Operations Team :

Our Fund Operation’s team makes imperative contributions to the operational functions related to the Alternative Investment Funds and Managed Investing products shipped by Wealthsimple. These include services such as private credit, private equity and venture funds. We’re a small, new and impact-driven team that is creating process improvements week by week, providing accurate financial data and a world-class, human-first client experience to our clients.

About the Role :

As an Associate, Fund Operations you will be owning multiple areas of our Accounting functionality : reconciliations, audits, valuations, providing highly reliable data to our clients. As the role evolves, you’ll partner with our team to help build process improvements and leverage AI to improve the technical efficiency of our service. You’ll also help shape the cultural footprint of our team to our partners and across the business as our service scales and enables Canadian’s reach their financial freedom goals!

As an Associate, Fund Operations, you will :

• You'll ensure our Net Asset Value (NAV) is rock-solid, diving deep into expenses, P&L, and all things reconciliation to safeguard our fund's integrity.
• Master the flow of all capital activity for our alternative funds, from new investments to withdrawals, ensuring everything runs with precision.
• Provide clear, concise answers to client inquiries and whip up ad-hoc reports that shed light on their investments, helping them understand their portfolios better.
• Collaborate closely with our diverse teams across Wealthsimple, acting as a vital link to flag any hiccups and keep our client data pristine.

What you bring :

• You've got at least 1-2 years under your belt at a fund management or administration company, with solid experience in NAV calculations, tax, and audit prep. You're also a pro at managing orders, distributions, and capital calls
• You're keen on reviewing trades, positions, and bank reconciliations, plus you know your way around posting journal entries
• Strong Excel skills are a must, and if you've got a handle on programming (especially SQL) or industry courses (CPA, CFA, etc.) under your belt, that's a huge bonus. You're all about using data to get things done
• You're organized, detail-oriented, and not afraid to tackle large datasets under tight deadlines. Even better, you've got a knack for project management and love finding ways to make processes smoother
• You're passionate about the fintech and alternative investment space, always curious to dig into day-to-day issues and find smart solutions
