Overview

Would you like to earn some extra money and work from home? Our client, a well established and growing translation firm in Toronto, is looking for qualified, freelance translators with experience and ability to translate from English to French. Work is paid out on a monthly basis.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for translation of different material (marketing, packaging, pamphlets, communications, website information, manuals, etc.) from English to French (Canadian)
• Ensures that translated material content conveys original meaning and tone
• Content proofreading (self and other translators) - provide constructive feedback on work of other translators
• Research information pertaining to client translation requests
• Conducts terminological research to ensure accuracy of the translations
• Verify that all content has been translated prior to its delivery to client
• Stay current on new translation tools and practices

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of proven translation experience (French first language)
• University education ideally in linguistics and / or translation
• Experience working with translation software tools (i.e. Trados, LogiTerm, MultiTrans, WordFast)
• Strong research skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to proofread
• Highly organized and ability to meet deadlines
