Description:
The Head of Courier Resourcing will play a critical role in ensuring the right number of couriers are consistently available on the network, owning the courier supply availability from onboarding through to day-to-day scheduling, through to re-engaging lapsed or dormant couriers.
This role will work closely with the Strategy and Development team to craft the future state network that balances different signals and levers to bring couriers onto the network to satisfy customer demand.
This will oversee the sub-teams - Courier Supply, Courier Onboarding, and Courier Planning/Scheduling - to help achieve courier CPO targets by balancing both short- and long-term priorities to consistently have courier availability balanced towards demand.
What’s On Your Plate:
Lead the implementation and manage effective courier onboarding programs/processes that promote order volume and network KPIs (PtoDs, offline time, etc.) and operational KPIs (propensity, service level, quality, productivity, etc)
Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency in the Courier Onboarding portal (Applicant Tracking System or ATS) in order to reduce time through funnel for potential courier applicants
Collaborate with Markets to create a collaborative, holistic strategy for Courier Supply, balancing short-term needs with long-term strategic direction
Determine the right level of supply needed at different time intervals to achieve business objectives
Work directly with the Courier Engagement team to develop a holistic global communication strategy
Identify different stages in a courier’s lifecycle to determine when certain communication needs to go out to improve courier lifetime on the network.
Work with P&T to determine short/medium/long term deliverables to enable optimization of the network outcomes like cost, delivery times, delivery accuracy etc.
With Delco Strategy and Development, moving towards a Hybrid and ‘more’ Open network to further reduce friction for couriers on the Delco network, while opening up additional supply to deliver network outcomes.
Recipe for Success:
Deep experience in data analysis, financial modeling or other similar quantitative disciplines.
Exceptional clarity and originality of thought; able to deconstruct & solve complex problems from first principles.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to effectively convey complex ideas and instill confidence in senior, global audiences across a variety of functions.
Able to work fully independently; very strong in organizing & prioritizing to navigate a high volume of fast-paced, constantly varied work; able to influence others toward the same.
Strong leadership experience; keen to act as a mentor to a large team with a significant number of direct reports.
Builder’s mindset, relentlessly focused on solving problems rather than just identifying them.
Working knowledge of Six Sigma or other Operations principles and techniques for ensuring strong, consistent execution.
Intermediate knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel Knowledge of SQL and Tableau a plus
Ability to break down complex ideas into simple terms for the broader organization (including senior leadership and frontline teams)
Strong people skills required as this job would require significant interaction with other teams
