Job Description

At KPMG, you’ll join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause: turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities around the world.

At KPMG, our commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, & Equity (ID&E) is not new. Our strategy has been in place for many years and is focused on advancing an equitable, inclusive, and mentally healthy culture for all our people. We have a deep focus on our priority communities - Black People, Indigenous Peoples, People of Colour, Women, Persons with Disabilities, and 2SLGBTQIA+. We are proud to have been recognized as one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers for 15 consecutive years.

KPMG embeds Inclusion, Diversity & Equity (ID&E) into its culture through focused strategies and dedicated leadership. We are seeking a Director to lead the HR ID&E Centre of Excellence, championing inclusive workplace initiatives and advancing firm-wide priorities. This role will work closely with the National ID&E Council, and collaborate with Human Resources, the Executive ID&E Council, the Chief Mental Health Officer, the Social Impact team, and our Employee Resource Groups, to drive the ongoing evolution of our ID&E strategy. The position reports directly to the Chief Talent Officer.

What You Will Do
  • Lead the execution of National ID&E initiatives within KPMG Canada ensuring alignment with firm strategy and people priorities
  • Provide leadership, guidance, oversight, and subject-matter expert development support to a team of 6+ direct reports to enable delivery against our ID&E plan and strategic priorities
  • Collaborate with the National ID&E Council to develop ID&E priorities that are aligned with firm strategy
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to HR and business leaders, providing expert guidance on ID&E policy, programs, and change initiatives
  • Represent ID&E on the National HR Leadership Team (HRLT), providing input and ID&E expertise on people priorities and talent programs and processes
  • Develop and facilitate workplace education programs to foster an inclusive and equitable environment
  • Design frameworks, programs, and performance metrics to evaluate and enhance ID&E initiatives across the firm
  • Oversee relationships with external vendors and sponsorship organizations, including contract negotiation and vendor management
  • Ensure adherence to national ID&E standards and support People Network Groups (ERGs) in their alignment with these standards
  • Collaborate with HR functional leaders, regional change agents, and CoE leaders to embed ID&E into talent programs and organizational culture
  • Serve as the data steward for all Diversity-related information, ensuring robust data governance practices are in place to uphold privacy, confidentiality, and compliance with internal and external regulatory standards
  • Leverage diversity data and analytics to generate actionable insights, enabling evidence-based decision-making that advances the firm’s ID&E strategy and enhances accountability across business units
  • Oversee project & resource budget, and participate in business & resource planning to ensure the long-term advancement and success of our strategy
What You Bring To The Role
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience, with a demonstrated ability to operate at a leadership level
  • Experience leading & managing inclusion, equity, diversity, anti-racism related initiatives, training, and programs
  • Demonstrated ability to think, plan, and lead on a strategic, long-term time horizon
  • A proven change agent with a passion for ID&E, adept at influencing all organizational levels and building impactful relationships with key stakeholders
  • Enthusiastic, continuous learner who engages in ongoing professional development through formal training, self-directed study, networking, and workshops
  • Strong demonstrated ability to build relationships internally and externally
  • Strong commitment to and knowledge of ID&E principles, as well as formal education & training in ID&E and mental health-related disciplines
  • Post-secondary degree, preferably in an ID&E-related field and/or strong knowledge of areas across various Human Resources functions
