Who You Are

Fresh Prep is seeking a Product Director to lead our culinary development and innovation. You’ll manage a portfolio that includes meal kits, ready-to-eat meals, salads, and various other product lines, each at different stages of maturity. You are a visionary and strategic product leader with deep expertise in consumer food experiences and a passion for culinary innovation, paired with the executional drive to turn bold ideas into impactful, real-world outcomes.

You hold a high bar for product and design quality and are deeply invested in delivering exceptional experiences to our customers. You thrive in a collaborative environment, influence across all levels of the organization, and are skilled at turning customer insights into scalable product strategies.

What You'll Be Doing

Strategic & Innovation Leadership

Shape the roadmap and strategy for Fresh Prep’s culinary product portfolio, ensuring it directly advances our revenue growth and broader company objectives.

Establish frameworks for innovation that balance customer delight, operational feasibility, and profitability.

Monitor food and consumer trends to identify white space and inform innovation strategy.

Champion the product vision to ensure a cohesive, on-brand, and customer-centric experience across all product lines.

Business & Operational Impact

Own key performance metrics for the product portfolio, including margin, ARPD growth, customer satisfaction, and retention.

Maintain accountability for the quality, consistency, and appeal of all products developed, ensuring they meet or exceed internal standards and customer expectations.

Provide oversight and direction on packaging design and functionality to enhance brand differentiation, drive sustainability, and ensure operational efficiency.

Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations to establish product targets for cost, labour efficiency, and sustainability.

Drive quarterly and annual planning for the Product Development team aligned with corporate objectives.

Champion execution of high-impact product launches and improvements.

Drive innovation while collaboratively solving executional and operational challenges.

Organizational & Team Development

Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing culinary team of product developers and testers.

Champion a culture of excellence, collaboration, experimentation, and customer obsession.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Finance, and the C-Suite.

Cross-functional Leadership

Act as a key partner to Executive Leadership on cross-company strategic initiatives, including new revenue streams, sustainability, and digital product expansion.

Represent the Product Development function in cross-functional business reviews and company-wide planning or strategy sessions.

Build strong relationships across Category, Marketing, Operations, Customer Experience, and Digital to ensure executional alignment.

What We Are Looking For

8–10+ years of progressive experience in food product innovation, culinary product management, or R&D, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role.

Proven track record of launching and commercializing food or CPG products—from concept through to scale—while meeting or exceeding customer satisfaction, margin, and revenue targets.

Demonstrated commitment to exceptional product quality and design, with experience setting and upholding high standards throughout the development lifecycle.

Experience overseeing packaging development and execution in ways that support brand positioning, customer experience, and operational efficiency.

Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with experience leading and scaling multi-disciplinary teams in fast-paced consumer goods or fresh food environments.

Deep expertise in product lifecycle management, culinary development, and innovation processes.

Culinary background strongly preferred, such as professional chef experience, recipe development, or food media.

Data-informed and customer-centric mindset, with the ability to derive insights and translate them into product strategy.

Exceptional communication and influence skills, with demonstrated success collaborating across all levels of an organization.

Some travel expected to support national product launches and regional alignment.

What You Can Expect

A base salary of $120,000-$135,000
