As we continue to expand our trading capabilities and diversify our commodity portfolio, we are now seeking an experienced Industrial Gas Trader to drive our entry and growth into the high-value industrial gases segment, including helium, rare gases, and specialty gases across frontier and established markets.

About the Role

Energetech is looking for a commercially driven Industrial Gas Trader to originate, structure, and execute trades involving helium, rare gases, and specialty industrial gases, primarily targeting the mining, medical, semiconductor, and industrial sectors across key strategic markets.

You will leverage our existing infrastructure, logistics capability, and market access to build a profitable trading book, exploiting regional arbitrage and delivering tailored gas solutions directly to end-users.

This role demands strong commercial acumen, deep market insight into industrial and rare gas markets, and an entrepreneurial spirit to quickly capitalize on trading opportunities with minimal CAPEX exposure.

Key Responsibilities

• Originate, structure, and execute trades involving helium, rare gases (e.g., xenon, neon, krypton, argon), and specialty industrial gases to strategic markets including Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
• Build and manage a diversified industrial gases portfolio, capitalizing on high-margin regional arbitrage opportunities through leasing-based supply chains and back-to-back trade structures.
• Develop and nurture long-term relationships with producers, suppliers, and industrial end-users (mining companies, healthcare providers, semiconductor manufacturers) to secure reliable supply and sustained demand.
• Leverage and optimize third-party logistics solutions (ISO containers, cylinders) to maintain flexibility, minimize CAPEX, and ensure smooth physical delivery.
• Navigate regulatory requirements related to the import, export, and transportation of industrial gases, ensuring compliance with all local and international safety standards and regulations.
• Provide market intelligence, pricing analytics, and insightful reporting on supply-demand dynamics, driving informed decision-making internally.
• Collaborate closely with Energetech’s existing trading desks, logistics team, and risk management teams to integrate industrial gas trading into broader corporate strategy.
• Represent Energetech in industry forums, conferences, and customer meetings, raising the firm’s profile in the global industrial gas markets.

Key Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in industrial gas trading, specifically focused on helium, rare gases, or specialty gases.
• Proven track record of originating and executing profitable industrial gas trades, particularly through leveraging logistical and regional arbitrage.
• Deep understanding of supply chains, pricing dynamics, and market structures of helium, rare gases, or industrial gas markets.
• Established relationships within industrial gas producers and major end-user industries (mining, medical, semiconductor, industrial manufacturing).
• Experience with cylinder-based and ISO tank-based logistics, third-party logistics providers, and international regulatory frameworks governing industrial gas transport.
• Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills, relationship management, and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Entrepreneurial, proactive, and self-motivated with the ability to independently identify and develop profitable trading opportunities.
• Fluent in English; additional languages beneficial depending on target markets (e.g., French for African markets, Arabic, or Mandarin).
