The Installation Engineer is responsible for the safe, high-quality, and efficient installation of KONE solutions. This role involves ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget, leading installation teams, verifying deliverables, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring readiness for customer and maintenance handovers.
The engineer will follow and improve standard working methods based on Lean principles, proactively lead teams to prevent interruptions, and serve as the main interface with customers and stakeholders during installation, supporting various departments as needed.
Key Responsibilities :
Site supervision :
- Ensure safety, quality, and productivity during installation and handovers, addressing non-conformities.
- Ensure correct use of installation methods and tools, and conduct risk assessments where needed.
- Prepare sites proactively, manage site readiness, deliverables, visits, and audits, resolving non-conformities with support from the Project Manager.
- Verify site execution plans and manage field costs, overseeing installation activities and handovers.
- Maintain realistic material delivery schedules and confirm milestones.
- Support payment verification in collaboration with the Project Manager and Admin.
- Plan and organize installation activities, logistics, and resources.
- Coordinate material requests, arrivals, and perform Goods Receipt.
- Handover to installation teams, clarifying scope, timelines, and milestones.
- Conduct team huddles to promote efficiency, prevent interruptions, and reduce waste.
- Achieve sales and change order targets, and ensure costs are claimed and collected.
- Verify installation quality, conduct final testing, and ensure proper handover to maintenance.
- Manage quality feedback, documentation, progress reporting, and schedule changes.
- Handle environmental aspects related to waste and hazardous materials.
Customer Relationship Management :
- Act as the primary contact for customers regarding site management, maintaining proactive communication.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through professional installation, safety, and quality standards.
People, leadership, and subcontractor relations :
- Verify that on-site personnel are trained and competent.
- Ensure safety, motivation, and well-being of team members.
- Identify training needs and communicate with relevant managers and partners.
- Manage team performance and develop individuals.
- Develop strong relationships with subcontractors and ensure commitments are met.
Continual improvement :
- Follow and enhance standard working methods based on LEAN principles.
- Motivate teams to identify waste and improve processes.
- Coach teams to enhance work standards.
- Share improvement opportunities and apply LEAN tools.
- Promote and recognize team successes in continuous improvement.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Elevators & Escalators in a similar role
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Customer-focused with excellent communication skills
- Solid health and safety knowledge
