JOB FUNCTION
The Assistant Survey Project Manager plays a critical role in planning, coordinating, and executing land survey and geomatics projects for Oil & Gas infrastructure. This position requires a strong technical foundation in surveying principles, geomatics technologies, and data management. Working under the guidance of the Survey Project Manager, the role ensures adherence to technical standards, accuracy of geospatial data, and timely delivery of high-quality outputs that meet client and industry specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinates with and supports the Survey Project Managers for technical aspects of survey and geomatics projects, including field operations and office-based data processing.
- Ensures survey methodologies, geodetic control, and data acquisition techniques comply with Fugro and client standards.
- Prepares documentation in respect to project‑specific survey procedures and quality control systems to guarantee precision and reliability.
- Oversees production and validation of survey deliverables, GIS datasets, and CAD outputs.
- Maintains organized archives of geospatial data, project documentation and metadata.
- Provides technical advice during client meetings, tenders, proposals, and quotations, with emphasis on Survey / Geomatic solutions.
- Offers guidance and technical support to field survey teams when required.
- Researches and stays current on advancements in geomatics technologies, positioning systems, and data processing software.

Qualifications / Skills / Experience
- Qualification: BSc or higher in Geomatics, Surveying, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: 1–3 years involvement within projects relating to land surveying, geospatial data acquisition, and processing for large‑scale infrastructure projects.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in survey instruments (GNSS, Total Stations, LiDAR) and geomatics software (GIS, CAD); understanding of coordinate systems, geodetic principles, and mapping standards; basic familiarity with scope, time and cost management in survey projects.
- Delivery Focus: Ability to meet project goals within defined timelines and quality standards.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills in English; ability to convey technical concepts clearly to clients and teams.
