Due to a strong project pipeline, our Abu Dhabi team is rapidly growing. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer (Civil & Wet Utilities) to undertake an infrastructure project based in Madinat Zayed.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team across infrastructure, buildings, transport, and other project types.
- Assist the Resident Engineer in managing daily operational activities, review and approve contractor submittals, and participate in quality control and assurance.
- Perform routine inspection monitoring tasks to ensure proper construction supervision.
- Inspect various aspects of work on-site, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and specifications.
- Document non-conformance issues and participate in resolution processes.
- Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications and local regulations.
- Review and analyze technical drawings and project documents.
- Conduct site inspections and prepare progress reports.
- Collaborate with contractors and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain schedules.
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, and quality control measures.
- Ensure safety standards and environmental regulations are followed.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with team members and clients.
- Assist in preparing change orders, contract modifications, and project documentation.
- Contribute to sustainable construction practices.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years postgraduate experience, with at least 7 years on large projects.
- Regional experience is preferred.
- Authority registration is preferred.
- Ability to manage and coordinate a team of moderate size and complexity.
- UAE Driving License.
- Good communication skills and relationship-building abilities.
- Experience in infrastructure projects.
