GEMS Westminster School - Ras Al Khaimah WSR is a vibrant community that combines tradition and innovation in teaching and learning, enabling pupils to excel in all aspects of school life.

We offer the internationally recognized National Curriculum for England, preparing students for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and A Level Examinations of the Universities of Cambridge and London (UK). Currently, the school offers this curriculum from Early Years Foundation Stage to Grade 12 and Pre-KG.

Head of Primary School Job Description :

• Implement the Behavior Management Plan for students in accordance with WSR policies and make recommendations to the SLT regarding discipline, including suspension or expulsion, when in the best interests of the student and the school.
• Assist the Principal in selecting all teaching and non-teaching staff for the Primary School section.
• Monitor staff performance in the Primary School and provide regular feedback, with appropriate follow-up actions in collaboration with the Vice Principal.
• Address staff issues professionally, including pastoral care and conflict management, in line with WSR policies.
• Collaborate with Assistant Head(s) of Primary to plan, organize, and manage all Primary School programs, activities, and events, fostering good communication and a positive environment.
• Ensure teachers deliver engaging programs that promote student involvement and success, utilizing a variety of resources.
• Lead, support, and motivate Primary School staff, students, and parents to achieve the WSR mission.
• Regularly monitor and assess the academic and overall progress of all students.
• Implement best practices in teaching and learning to ensure smooth transitions across Primary school stages.
• Oversee the orientation and welfare of all new and existing Primary School students.

Skills

• Extensive knowledge and skills in curriculum development, assessment, reporting, pastoral care, and school operations.
• Proven ability in mentoring, coaching, and providing professional development opportunities for staff.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
• Deep understanding of current educational practices related to student learning and pastoral care.
• Strong decision-making skills with the ability to think strategically, creatively, analytically, and solve problems effectively.
