We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health and Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of occupational health standards, EPA regulations, and workers compensation laws. You will be responsible for developing training programs, conducting safety audits and implementing health and safety policies to mitigate risks.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with environmental health regulations.
- Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive safety training programs for employees.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety incidents, inspections and compliance status.
- Collaborate with management to create a culture of safety within the organization.
- Stay updated on EPA regulations and ensure organizational adherence.
- Provide first aid and CPR training as needed to staff members.
- Assist in the development of emergency response plans and procedures.
- Manage workers compensation claims and ensure compliance with relevant laws.
- Proven experience in environmental health and safety roles or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health standards and workers compensation law.
- Familiarity with EPA regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to develop effective training programs tailored to various audiences.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred.
