Key Accountabilities
Site Safety Management & Compliance
- Take an active role in site safety management and ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor adherence to site safety rules by project teams, subcontractors, and vendors; issue warnings and stop work orders as needed for non-compliance.
- Conduct planned inspections and audits to ensure compliance with statutory regulations (ADPHC, ADOSH, DM Code, or local requirements) and OSH policy.
- Maintain relevant site safety files and records; submit monthly safety reports to the Project HSE Manager and Group HSE Office.
- Handle problem areas and make necessary contingency arrangements.
Coordination, Communication & Reporting
- Work closely with safety representatives from supervising consultants, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Communicate and report safety performance to line management.
- Attend scheduled and ad-hoc safety meetings.
- Respond to workers’ safety concerns and encourage suggestions to improve site safety.
- Demonstrate capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
Risk Assessment, Investigation & Emergency Response
- Assist in investigating OHS-related accidents, injuries, hazards, illnesses, or near misses; make recommendations for prevention.
- Record, review, and comment on risk assessments and OHS method statements for hazardous site activities.
- Carry out drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of site emergency response plans.
- Identify potential hazard areas and recommend preventive measures to the operations team.
- Coordinate with the site medical team on medicine requirements and health-related matters.
Training & Safety Promotion
- Promote safety awareness by providing induction training, safety briefings, and coordinating in-house or external training programs for workers and supervisors.
- Coordinate with logistics to recommend and monitor site security measures and report substandard acts for improvement.
Hazardous Materials & Waste Management
- Coordinate hazardous materials and waste management with logistics and the sustainability team, ensuring proper handling and disposal.
Other Duties
- Perform all other duties as assigned with consent by the Group HSE Manager.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in HSE, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Certifications:
- NEBOSH General Certificate in OHS (or NVQ Level 3 equivalent) – Mandatory
- ISO-45001 Lead Auditor – Mandatory
- OSHA 10–30 Hours General Industry Safety and Health Program and/or other HSE-related training – Preferred
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Health & Safety within engineering construction infrastructure projects.
- Skills:
- Hazard identification and risk assessment
- Knowledge of safety regulations and standards
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis

Candidates applying for roles in Abu Dhabi must have successfully completed the “Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH) Practitioners Course” and hold Grade B or higher registration.
