Experience : 20 years in construction and consultancy, with UAE experience preferred

Job Summary :

KN International is seeking a skilled and strategic Commercial Manager to lead the commercial and contractual aspects of our construction and consultancy projects. The role involves overseeing project finances, managing contracts and risks, and ensuring all projects deliver strong commercial performance while maintaining compliance with client requirements and company objectives.

The Commercial Manager will play a critical role in contract negotiation, cost recovery, claims management, and stakeholder coordination across multiple active projects in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Develop and implement commercial strategies for projects to optimize financial performance.
  2. Ensure alignment of commercial objectives with contractual obligations and company goals.
  3. Monitor project KPIs, profitability, and cost-effectiveness.
  4. Advise on project procurement strategies and commercial risk mitigation.

2. Contract Management

  1. Review and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and consultancy agreements.
  2. Ensure compliance with FIDIC and local contract standards.
  3. Manage contract administration, including claims, variations, and extensions of time (EOT).
  4. Coordinate with legal advisors on dispute resolution and contractual issues.

3. Cost & Budget Oversight

  1. Work closely with cost managers and quantity surveyors to monitor budgets and control project costs.
  2. Review contractor payment applications, interim valuations, and final accounts.
  3. Support project teams in cost forecasting, cash flow management, and reporting.

4. Stakeholder & Client Engagement

  1. Serve as the primary commercial point of contact with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.
  2. Lead commercial meetings and prepare commercial reports and executive summaries for stakeholders.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with clients and supply chain partners to ensure smooth contract execution.

5. Risk & Compliance Management

  1. Identify commercial risks and ensure proactive risk management plans are in place.
  2. Maintain compliance with local laws, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  3. Ensure commercial documentation is well-maintained and audit-ready.

Qualifications & Skills Required :

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  2. 20 years of experience in commercial and contract management within the construction or engineering consultancy sector.
  3. Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, UAE construction laws, and industry best practices.
  4. Preferred certifications : MRICS, PMP, or similar commercial / contractual qualifications.
  5. Proven experience in cost control, procurement, claims, and negotiations.
  6. Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
  7. Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and commercial / project management software (e.g., Aconex, Candy, Primavera).
