Finance Administrator position available in Durban.
The Finance Administrator is responsible for supporting the finance function through the execution of core administrative tasks including debtor management, cashbook processing, and reporting.
The role also supports asset management, audit preparation, and contributes to sustainability and compliance reporting. This is a critical role for ensuring the smooth financial operation and data integrity within the finance department.
This position suits a detail-oriented, systems-savvy finance professional with a strong administrative background and sound financial knowledge, particularly in debtor controls and cash management.
Salary: R25 000 – R35 000 per month.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Finance Administration
- Process customer invoices and update cashbook receipts.
- Monitor vessel schedules for cash upfront clients and confirm funds are received before loading.
- Submit banking details for tracking and communicate with operations.
- Send customer statements (mid-month and month-end).
- Conduct debtors’ collections and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Monitor debtors’ age analysis and enforce credit limits.
- Submit daily volume reporting on Easy Clear – RCG Customs platform.
- Reconcile Capex payments as per approved documentation.
- Maintain and update customer masterfile (Accpac).
- Upload and manage data on internal storage systems.
- Administer and reconcile petty cash.
- Tag and verify fixed assets; maintain fixed assets < R7,000 register.
- Reconcile WIP Capex projects.
- Process diesel transactions.
- Support internal and external audit documentation requests.
BBBEE & ESG Reporting
- Manage online B-BBEE toolkit and assist with reporting.
- Support BEE audit preparation and reporting on certificate exceptions.
- Submit and follow up on monthly BEE compliance exception reports.
- Provide sustainability data inputs: diesel, petrol, electricity, water usage.
Requirements:
- National Diploma in Accounting or related qualification.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in finance administration.
- ERP system experience (essential).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Work experience in FMCG, heavy industry, or bulk terminal environments is preferred.
