OverviewAdvanced Data & Market Analyst at PG Group (Pty) LtdLocation : Springs, GautengMain Job Purpose : Provide insight to the sales and planning departments regarding the Southern African flat glass market focusing on market size, pricing, supply chains and emerging trends.

Analyse sales and import data, as well as international import / export databases to monitor the real-time movement of prices and availability of materials used in the glass manufacturing process.

Overlay leading economic indicators and build robust statistical models aimed at enhancing the forecast accuracy in short- and medium-term glass consumption forecasts.

Develop long-term demand forecasting to enrich the long-range capacity plan of float glass manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Market Size Analysis : Support the planning and sales teams in determining and establishing the market size for building glass products, locally and in neighbouring countries. Import Tracking System : Compile data and build a dashboard to maintain a glass import tracking system for Sub-Saharan Africa, aiding the development and refinement of sales strategies for different regions. Market Share Strategies : Determine market shares in each region and advise on strategies to improve them. Predictive Indicators : Explore leading indicators to enhance predictions of future market changes, improving sales forecasts, budgets, and input into the IBP demand plan. Cost Analysis : Conduct in-depth analysis of complex data sets to establish the true landed costs of building glass products entering Southern Africa, informing pricing strategies per region compliance Monitoring : Analyse import data and advise on potential outliers to assist in identifying non-compliant declarations; develop guidance to support risk-based investigations. Global Pricing Trends : Benchmark prices of automotive glass products worldwide and advise the export sales team on pricing trends for various regions. Procurement Guidance : Identify trends and opportunities to guide procurement in identifying buyers and / or suppliers of critical products, and benchmark prices for the Group.
