As an Application Technician you are responsible for second level application support on all Fronius products and systems installed in South Africa.
Tasks & Responsibilities - Functional
Providing application technical advice.
Installing and updating Fronius products incl. Fronius’ software.
Organising and carrying out welding demonstrations, welding test and training.
This implies operation and programming of robot control units and Fronius mechanized systems.
Optimization of welding applications, by creating specific welding parameters.
Documenting the activities (reports) on the Fronius intranet (CRM, Share Point, and others).
Providing services such as commissioning of welding systems, expert training, production start-up etc.
Basic level of tech support and fault-finding, remote or on customer site.
Participating in trade fairs and providing support at national events.
Provide telephone and email support on welding queries / requests.
Passing on feedback from the market and customers to Fronius International.
Assisting with system configurations when preparing offers for complex systems.
Assisting with the storage of demonstration and rental equipment.
Requirements
Technical qualification in a metalworking field such as pipeline construction, steel engineering, machine construction, shipbuilding, etc.
Extensive knowledge of MMA, TIG and MIG / MAG welding processes.
Red seal in welding or coded welder or IIW IWP
Basic knowledge in robot handling.
Electrical knowledge would be an advantage.
Good sales and communication skills as well as a customer-oriented attitude.
Presentation and IT skills (use of MS Office and related programs).
Willingness to travel (national and international).
Willingness to undertake further training.
Team spirit with willingness to impart knowledge to others.
Driving licence.
Languages
Fluent English (written and spoken)
German, Portuguese, French are beneficial (but not mandatory).
