Job summary

A manufacturing firm in South Africa is looking for two motivated Machine Operators to join their Packaging Department. Candidates will operate and maintain machinery, adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and meet performance targets in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of experience as a Machine Operator and possess a Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year’s experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven knowledge of GMP and SOP compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain workstations and machinery according to procedures.
  • Perform machine changeovers and setups, ensuring correct parts and efficient assembly.
  • Verify machine components and report maintenance issues.
  • Handle bulk material in line with GMP requirements.
  • Ensure correct fill volumes are achieved and maintained as per quality standards.
  • Verify balances for pack sizes being filled.
  • Complete all in-process documentation accurately.
  • Reconcile jobs and ensure proper document control.
  • Meet performance targets, including on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.

Reporting to the Packaging Supervisors, this role requires strong time management, accuracy, and the ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within a production environment.
